Swimming Suspended Until Further Notice
As I am sure that everyone can appreciate, we are experiencing unprecedented times at the moment and dealing with a rapidly evolving situation and advice from the government and sporting bodies.
Earlier this evening Swim England updated its guidance to clubs, effectively classifying all swimming as ‘public gatherings’ in accordance with Monday’s announcement by Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
Therefore, we have made the decision to suspending all training until further notice.
This latest update comes on the back today’s other announcements from West Midlands, Swim England, and British Swimming that regional and national qualification / events are being postponed. We are also certain that other clubs will also be confirming postponement of their events in the coming days, as per the recent decision by Cardiff to cancel Tiger Bay.
Over the coming days, the executive committee will once again be considering the financial implications for the club and what individuals will need to do with regards to training fees and annual membership. However, the health and safety of all swimmers, their friends, and family must come first - so we wanted to get this update out immediately, but appreciate that there will be many questions arising on the back of this announcement.

We will of course keep everyone updated as things develop and plans evolve to reintroduce training, but in the meantime please keep safe and follow the government guidelines to help suppress the spread of COVID-19.
In the meantime, the coaching team will be providing Land Training guidance to all swimmers to help keep fit and active whilst the suspension is in place.
Finally, we would like to extend the thoughts and prayers of the entire executive committee and coaching team to anyone who is, or will, suffer during these unprecedented times.
